The Pig Gets His Wings

Mason County PUD No. 3 is among a small group of pioneering public utility districts in Washington State that provide wholesale fiber optic network services to their service areas.

Already well-established in the delivery of electricity to its customers, PUD 3 determined that its customers would benefit from the access to cutting edge telecommunications services via the fiber optic network that is used to monitor and control the local electric system.

At the start of the 21st century, the Washington State Legislature gave its approval to PUDs to provide advanced telecommunications to customers on a wholesale basis.

Local telecommunications businesses that have partnered with PUD 3 give their customers access to blazing fast internet and email, telephone service, and in the future, basic and high-definition television service.

The Mason County PUD No. 3 fiber optic network complements existing telecommunications services, provides businesses and residents with access to high-speed internet and email, allows for extremely fast and reliable business network connections, and gives businesses the chance to house their internet and network services in the PUDs reliable and secure collation facility.

If a business needs a special data circuit to connect with offices or customers outside Mason County, PUD 3 and the Northwest Open Access Network (NoaNet) can help meet that challenge with fast, scalable service.

For fast, reliable, safe and affordable fiber optic network services in Mason County, PUD 3 is the answer.
